I disdain the idea of distributing HK$6K to every permanent resident of HK, suggested by the HKSAR government.
Taxes I paid, in which I believe, should be used in providing excellent infra-structure, efficient public services and right-to-the-point social security network. Direct cash distribution regardless the wealthiness of each resident is similar to a direct transfer my tax dollars to those who don’t pay tax.
Some people may say we should help those in need, a statement I truly agree. I should, however, be entitled to choose which charitable organization I would like to donate, and help those I want to help the most. This right has been interdicted by the government through its suggested cash distribution
